MHTS- EXCELLENCE IN HEALTH AND FITNESS TRAINING

All the fitness courses contain the following elements:

  • 8 weeks part time study or full time.

  • Gym experience is gained in the college clinic.

  • First aid is included as part of the course.

  • Online study notes provided

  • Computer based learning available

  • Private tuition before each class

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR - GYMNASIUM WORKER : Certificate 3 in Fitness

The Certificate 3 in Fitness course comprises Sport and Recreation Core Units, Fitness Stream Units and Electives. There are two specialisation streams; Group Fitness Instructor stream (formerly aerobic module) or Gym Instructor stream. Successful completion of the course qualifies you as either a group fitness instructor or gym instructor. During the course you will learn about anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and nutrition and exercise instruction and program design. FITNESS TRAINER - PERSONAL TRAINER : Certificate 4 in Fitness

Designs and delivers exercise programs for low risk individuals (in small groups) in a somewhat less controlled environment.

A person trainer possesses a wide range of relevant instructing and fitness–specific competencies and who facilitates the development in clients of a fit and healthy lifestyle in a range of environments. Personal trainers work in a diverse range of areas and often run personal training studios or work onsite with individuals or groups. More details...

FITNESS SPECIALIST : Requires Diploma in Fitness

Plans, delivers and monitors exercise interventions for moderate risk people, working in close operation with suitably credentialed allied health professionals

A person who is skilled in working in a variety of environments relating to the delivery of higher level fitness training, sports conditioning and other fitness and health related activities. A Fitness Specialist is involved in the planning and delivery of exercise programs for moderate risk clients in a range of unpredictable circumstances, in conjunction with a suitably credentialed allied health professional and/or medical professional.
